The Asia-Pacific Occupational Safety and Health Organization (APOSHO) is an international
body composed of non-profit professional organizations devoted to the prevention of
occupational accidents and diseases.
The National Safety Council of India (NSCI) is a founding member of the APOSHO. It was set
up in 1985 by Safety Councils of six countries of Asia including NSC India with the objective
of promoting mutual understanding and co-operation and contributing to enhancement of
OHS through exchange of information & views among the communities in the Asia Pacific
region. Presently, APOSHO has 39 organisations from 21 countries as its members and
meets once every year.
